Some of the best Italian restaurants are located in Hazleton. They have a long history of exceptional food. The Ovalon on Diamond and Wyoming Avenue, is a well known and exceptional restaurant for fine dining. Established in 1946, it's reputation has been consistent and you will not be disappointed.
Looking for casual and a great Pizza or Pitza as we locals call the cold, square pitza. Try Senapes on Vine Street and the bakery located behind the restuarant has excellent breads baked daily.
Another favorite of the locals is Angelos Italian House located at 695 Alter Street. Moma still cooks in the kitchen, and one of the daughters is a pastry chef.
Bottlenecks on Broad Street is a wonderful taven with award winning "Wings."
Jimmys on Broad Street has been around since I was a kid. And I challenge you to find a better chili dog in the state. Many have tried to copy his chili recipe but none have, including my Mother. She was a wonderful cook and did so professionally. She came very close.
The Meeting House in Drums has a wonderful atmosphere and fine dining. The bar area and bar menu offered great dining at reasonable prices. The formal dining rooms is fine dining at it's best. You will not be disappointed.
